Victor Ware

I started this project wanting to examine the use of untutored hand lettering and why that particular aesthetic that persists even in the digital age.  And as I dug deeper into the subject, one thing that interested me the most was the appropriation of these letterforms in contemporary graphic design and what implications that has on the meaning of design. My poster addresses that idea and what happens when vernacular lettering is used in a commercial way.
