Linger
This work is a testament to separation, not only between two people but also between a person and their own surroundings. Distance necessitates a constant reminder of the past in order to feel connected to something no longer present. Recollecting small facts such as the way one smells or the marks on one’s skin becomes a replacement not nearly as flavorful as the real thing, but something that helps time pass. These photographs are an example of a bond that one can never quite grasp but remains constantly elusive. Amidst short periods of intimacy there lay long stretches of aloneness. It is a game of waiting, an unavoidable alignment of two rarely intersecting paths.
